This is a movie. Learn to keep art and politics separate. I like Akshay Kumar and Tabu. But whether he is Patriotic or not should not be how a movie's quality is decided. A movie's quality depends on direction and a strong storyline. I am from Kerala, but if Akshay's movie has good quality and he acted well I'll appreciate. Else I'll openly say that the movie is crap. I don't decide whether a movie is good or bad based on my political views or the actor's.

Cinematography and art designing was really good. Some scenes/comedy styles felt familiar, then realised it was Priyadarshan's movie. Akshay and supporting actors' comedy timings worked really well. Wamiqa- Akshay's chemistry did not come through. Felt like Tabu was almost type casted here. Even though the opening was strong, watching the first half took effort- had similarities to another movie- bangla, folklore, a room that is closed, new wedded girls etc. Second half was much better as there was an element of surprise in story telling, although a couple of others were already signposted.

it is not disturbing that a 58yr old dude is pretending to be the son of a 49yr old dude with a sis thats 33. you cant hide the age differences and it takes away from the movie. Why couldnt Akshay be the father?!? No amount of acting can hide that awkwardness.

Some good scenes with the story bout the monster but first half of the movie kinda drags without real substance. Some nice comedy but felt kinda bad because of Akshay over the top acting lol. Going to watch the second half because i had to stop and take a day off break to be able to continue because it was boring.

One question - WHY? Why are such movies still being made, especially with yesteryear's actors with a peter pan complex! AK, sorry but you are way past such roles. if one had to do it now then I could think of Varun Dhawan doing this but still with the quiestion of that why! Wasted roles of timeless Tabu and silly rawal, poor exposure for wamiqa. All about AK, which of course is his production. Same old same old. So unless you are a diehard AK fan or like slapstick / cheap comedy then do watch. Indiana jones meets the mummy meets the omen! [NOT!! :-)]
