I just happened to finish the book the white nights by Dostoevsky and halfway through it, I felt it was eerily similar to this film and after looking it up, turns out Iyarkai is loosely based off of this great piece of work. It is so painfully beautiful and one film that will live long in the hearts and minds of many.
